For vitaminwater, it made perfect sense to involve their celebrity spokesperson Shaquille O’Neal in a Belmont Stakes promotion, as he was featured in a racing-themed TV commercial promoting the enhanced water brand. Vitaminwater enjoyed national exposure to more than 94,000 fans, and gave away thousands of free bottles of its product in the parking lot as hot and thirsty racing fans poured into Belmont Park.. Sports celebrity spokesperson Shaquille O’Neal appeared on ESPN from the Belmont Park paddock dressed in jockey silks, and awarded the trophy to the winner of the specially branded vitaminwater Acorn Stakes. National media picked up the photo of Shaq in jockey silks in the Belmont Winner’s Circle.

White Carnation Sponsor – The official flower of the Belmont Stakes is the white carnation. NYRA offers a sponsorship partner the exclusive right to activate a pre-Belmont Stakes Day promotion utilizing this symbol of the race, and entitlement sponsorship of an undercard stakes race on the first Saturday in June. Additional benefits include your logo on the race page, a 30-second TV spot before your race, full page four color ad in the Belmont Stakes souvenir program, and signage in the clubhouse, paddock, Backyard, and under rail for your race.

With
infield signage, your brand enjoys high profile exposure not just on Belmont Stakes Day, but throughout the Belmont Spring and Fall Race Meets. Sponsors have opportunities in the Belmont Park Clubhouse and Grandstand, the park-like Backyard where families picnic, and on 10’ high X 30’ wide infield signs that will be seen by 400,000 on track during the Spring Meet, and 150,000 during the eight week Championship Fall Meet at Belmont Park.

Sponsorship of a graded stakes race at Belmont Park has great prestige in the racing industry, for The New York Racing Association hosts 100 graded races, 40 of them top level Grade I Stakes. NYRA’s Day at the Races sponsorship package combines hospitality on track (semi-private or private based on size of group), with a named non-stakes race and trophy presentation for four company representatives, :30 second TV spot on NYRA TV before your race, name on the race page in the Post Parade program, and a full page black and white ad in the program. Enhancements include a guest speaker for your luncheon or breakfast (private venue only), handicapping seminar, and on track activation promoting your brand to consumers.

Party at the Park at Belmont – Partner with NYRA to co-host a Friday, June 18 live concert in the Belmont Backyard. Younger fans enjoy the 3pm late post time, and flock to the Backyard after the last race to enjoy live music, food and their favorite libation at the Festival Tent! A top-rated regional classic rock act will headline the 7-9pm concert. Co-sponsors will have logo on all Party in the Park promotional materials and media, hospitality for their guests or clients, signage at the venue, and the opportunity to activate on-site in the Festival Tent on June 18, 2010.

Family Fun Day Sundays at Belmont – With admission as low as $2, and kids 12 and under free, Belmont is a perfect place to bring the family on Sunday to enjoy the races, pony rides ($1 to charity) and free themed entertainment including face painting, games, climbing wall, inflatables and clowns. All the fun takes place in the Belmont Backyard on 10 Sundays from early May to mid-July (except the Sunday after Belmont Stakes). Sponsors will have signs at each activity, plus their logos on all promotional materials and paid media.
